Being a Stanner

Oxford can be a bit of a quirky place, especially for graduates. The Oxbridge Collegiate system can be confusing at first, but you’ll soon realize why this system makes the Oxford experience so unique and special. Aside from being a member of an academic department, each postgraduate is a member of a college and their respective common rooms.

For graduates, St Anne’s College provides housing, dining, welfare, academic services, and general advising. More importantly, the College brings together a community of scholars that reflects the diversity of the University as a whole. Graduate students will be members of the St Anne’s Middle Common Room (MCR), a postgraduate community that supports their students during their time at Oxford. As St Anne’s students (“Stanners”), you will also get access to college facilities and activities, which you can explore in this section.

You can also read more about the college on its official site.
