College Support and Welfare
Dr Shannon McKellar Stephen is the Tutor for Graduates for St. Anne’s and co-ordinates academic welfare and support. She is keen to ensure that you know what help is available and where to get it. Feel free to contact her if you need information, guidance or support. Her room is in the Academic Office, first floor of Hartland House. Dr McKellar Stephen also liaises regularly with the MCR Academic Affairs and Welfare Representatives. All matters discussed with her are strictly confidential.
If you have a problem you would prefer not to discuss with your College Advisor and wish to seek our independent academic advice, you can get in touch with one of the MCR Advisors: Professor Roger Crisp, Dr Terry O’Shaughnessy, and Dr Kate Watkins. Ms Zoe Sparrowhawk is the Harrassment Advisor. The College has robust regulations regarding harassment and takes complaints seriously. If you feel you are experiencing any form of harassment, Zoe can give you advice on how to proceed.
Mrs Rachel Busby is the Dean of Welfare. Mrs Busby and the College Nurse share the room on the Ground floor, 27 Banbury Road. Dr Bogdanor is responsible for student welfare in collaboration with the Assistant Deans and the rest of the Welfare team. Please email in advance for appointments firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sheila Smith is the College Disability Advisor. If you have a disability, we encourage you to let Sheila know. There is a lot of funded support available and Sheila can help you set up special examination needs. You can contact her by e-mail.

She can advise on medical-related issues as well as any other personal, emotional problems. Her office is in 27 Banbury Road. The College Counsellor, Ms Ann Hart works during term time (Weeks 0-9). To make an appointment, please e-mail her. Both Clare and Ann can also be contacted via the lodge.
The doctors affiliated with our College are located at the Jericho Health Centre, a 5 minutes walk from the main college site, and there will be an opportunity to register with them during fresher’s week. Tel. 01865 311234 (this is also the out of hours contact number).
St Anne’s has three Assistant Deans living on the main College site. Robert Stagg (‘Rob’), Friederike Haberstroh, and Jennifer Cassidy are in charge of discipline in College but are also concerned with your welfare.
Assistant Deans can help you with any concerns you may have, personal or academic. They are post-graduate students selected for their understanding of and empathy for your needs. They take turns being on call at night in case of emergency and can be contacted via the Lodge. They liaise with the Dean, Dr Don Porcelli, and the Senior Tutor/Tutor for Graduates, Dr Shannon McKellar Stephen on matters of Welfare and Discipline.
