Title: ”No Offence”: Curating LGBTQ+ histories
The British Museum touring exhibition of LGBTQ world history (currently at the Ashmolean) is based on a book by Richard Bruce Parkinson. He will discuss some of the practical issues in researching such exhibitions and the institutional issues that can be at stake in terms of interpretation and reception, with reference to the Ashmolean’s current exhibition, trails and events.
This event is linked to an MCR visit to the exhibition at the Ashmolean, which will take place on Sunday 11th November (around 1 pm, time tbc).
Coffee/tea and biscuits will be provided. Booking will close on the 7th of November.
